The Department of Church History examines the historical development of the Christian Church from the apostolic age to the present. Instruction includes early church history, the Ecumenical Councils, patristic eras, medieval Christianity, and the history of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Emphasis is placed on understanding the Church’s historical witness, continuity of faith, and spiritual heritage.
